A visit to Crystal Castle - Mullumbimby

We've squeezed in another quick trip to Byron before the reality of the school year starts.
While we were up here we decided to pop into Crystal Castle in the Byron hinterlands.

It had been a few years since we had visited so it was lovely to wander around the grounds and see what was new and marvel at how much everything had grown.

There is something peaceful and magical about the place. Even the boys noticed it and were quite interested in reading the little signs about the crystals and following instructions on walking the labryinth.  If you are ever in the area it is well worth a visit.

Here are some of our photos from the day -

One of the highlights was the wishing tree. It was so sweet to see the boys thinking of things to write to hang on the tree. There were quite a few "peace and love" and "world peace" on there.
One can only hope!

Last time we were in the bamboo forest I was 6 months pregnant with Noah.
It was funny to be back in the same spot with him running around. We had to grab a photo.

Have you ever been to Crystal Castle? Did you have a favourite part?

My week.....

How has your week been?
This week they had peonies at Woolies, I couldn't resist and bought a bunch.
It was beautiful to watch them open up over the week.

Simon and I usually share a pot of green tea after dinner but we decided on a hot chocolate the other night instead. I saw these "chocolates on a stick" at Target the other day and thought I'd try them out. Yum!

I saw some cute sushi on Pinterest in the shape of Pandas the other day and thought I'd give it a try. Halfway through I realised they had used a panda shaped mold!
Of course I didn't have one, so I had to wing it. The boys liked them  ;)

Mum and I went for a walk on Friday and popped into the Boathouse at Shelley Beach for a peek.
It's only been open for a week or so and is the "new kid in town" so the place is packed!
It looks lovely and the gardens out the back are beautiful.

The sun was shining on Saturday and it was lovely to sit out in the sun and watch Finn play 2 games of football. Rugby union in the morning and league in the afternoon.

I've been taking photos of gardens on my walks as I'm gathering ideas for our garden revamp.
I'm so tempted to paint our house white and I'm trying to see if it would work with our current black accents (roof, garage door, window frames etc)

The weeks are flying by but so are the weekends!

I'm looking forward to the end of this week as Finn's school holidays begin and we're off to Bali to bask in the sun a few days after that. I can't wait!

I hope your week was a good one x
