Mother's Day 2025

I had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday surrounded by my favourite people.

I was treated to breakfast, pressies and a delicious roast dinner cooked by Simon. My mum joined us for dinner and I set the table with a pink and floral theme. It was very pretty! My Mother's Day flowers were the perfect centrepiece. Feeling very loved and happy!

Mother's Day 2019

We had a lovely weekend celebrating Mother's Day.
We had our mums over for dinner on Saturday night and a quiet day on Sunday.

I was spoilt with breakfast in bed on Sunday morning and the boys gave me their gifts from the Mother's Day stall and their homemade cards. I love how excited they are to give them to me.

It was lovely just to have a relaxed day together. Bliss! Just what I needed after a busy week.

How was your weekend? x

Stills - Mother's Day 2017

We had a very relaxed day here on Sunday. I woke to lots of hugs and kisses, homemade cards and gifts from the Mother's Day stall. The boys made a chocolate cake for afternoon tea then we caught up with family for dinner to celebrate all the Mums.

I hope you had a wonderful day too x

My Mother's Day - 2016

I've had the loveliest Mother's Day being spoilt by my beautiful boys (husband included)

As a present to myself, I couldn't resist buying a few bunches of tulips with the groceries on Friday and the house is full of pink blooms. Gorgeous!

The boys let me have a little sleep in and then presented me with breakfast, presents + cuddles in bed.
I love the hand made cards the boys make at kindy/school. They always come out with the funniest reasons on why they love you! I always keep the boys hand written cards as they are the best gift ever

We took our annual photo of our legs in bed and Finn has finally taken over as the tallest. I love having these momentos of how they have grown over the last few years.

My little #1 mum trophy makes the best vase :)

We had an afternoon tea with my mum (Simon's parents are away at the moment) and Simon made a pink pavlova in honour of Mother's Day. He always uses the Donna Hay recipe , he added a splash of pink food colouring this time. His pav's are always delicious and a favourite around here.

Topped with cream, raspberries and a drizzle of passionfruit it was amazing!

A little bag of goodies and a pot of tulips for my mum.

Mother's Day afternoon tea. Champagne + cake is the perfect combination.

Love you Mum!

I received a Methuselah of pink champagne (6 litres!) as one of my gifts.
I'll have to have a party so I can drink it!

I felt very loved and blessed over the weekend.
How was your weekend? I hope you did something lovely xx

Inspo for celebrating Mother's Day

I thought I would put together some inspiration for celebrating Mother's Day.

I always love to start my Mother's Day with a tiny sleep in followed by breakfast in bed served by my beautiful boys.

Here are a few other ideas that I'm sure a lot of mums will appreciate -

These mushroom + spinach quiches would make a lovely addition to breakfast or brunch

A bunch of flowers is always perfect

Or a delicious cocktail.... you can find some amazing recipes here

If hosting a Mother's Day lunch, using a photo of mum + child is a beautiful idea for place cards.

What an amazing background for your Mother's Day nibbles!

As this Autumn weather has been so lovely, a picnic would be a wonderful way to celebrate Mother's Day. Just make sure mum doesn't have to organise a thing! ;)

Or you could always just give mum some time alone. Always a luxury xx

You can see how I've celebrated Mother's Day for the last couple of years here and here

What are your plans for Sunday?

Mother's Day Gift Guide

It's Mother's Day on Sunday and I've put together a little gift guide with some ideas on pressies for your mum and mother figures or maybe just as a hint for the husband and kids.

At this time of year as the weather cools down, I always love new pj's and lounge wear or a new pair of boots.  Some jewellery and bath products to pamper yourself with is always great.

Or you could choose something that the whole family can benefit from like the Vitamix.
We love ours and have gotten so much use out of it making acai bowls, smoothis and soups.

Here are a few of my picks -

Of course a bunch of flowers, breakfast in bed, gifts chosen lovingly from the school stall are always amazing. I love the pride and effort the boys take with their homemade mother's day gifts each year.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Sunday morning will bring :)

How about you? Anything planned for Sunday?

My Mother's Day weekend

We had a Mother's Day weekend as we hosted dinner at our place on Saturday night for both our mums and families as it was the one time we could all be together.

Simon cooked a delicious chicken and chorizo paella, followed by 2 fabulous cakes and lots of champagne. I felt very pampered and I hope our mums did too.
My contribution to the night was setting the table ;)
I couldn't go past those pink tulips without picking up a few bunches.

We love the Lemon Drizzle cake from Flour and Stone.
It's the perfect blend of sweet with a tart tang! The chocolate cake was divine as well.
It was a lovely night.

On Sunday morning I woke up to handmade cards and gifts from the Mother's Day stall at school.
Bliss! I always love seeing what the boys choose.
We all sat in bed sipping sparkling apple juice from champagne flutes and the boys all made little speeches. It was so sweet.

Sunday was a relaxed day at home. We were going to go out but it was a little chilly and we were all happy to stay put. I pottered around finding spots for my gifts, including this new Slim Aarons print.

In the afternoon my box of chocolates were opened and shared around.
You can't go past a classic Milk Tray!

I felt very lucky and loved.

How was your Mother's Day? Did you get spoilt?
