Summer Holidays 2021

Summer holiday vibes.
We crossed the QLD border to catch up with family and enjoy some time in the sun.
We are now in Byron. The weather has been amazing and it has been beach, eat, sleep repeat.
Bliss! Totally needed and sooo appreciated after this year.

Byron Bay 2020

We were lucky enough to still be able to have our annual holiday to Byron Bay this year.

It was something we had been dreaming about all year and we are so grateful that we got to go, especially with everything going on and so many people missing out on their trips and visits to family.

We arrived in QLD to visit family and were met with the most torrential rain we had ever seen! The next couple of days were spent doing mainly indoor activities and seeing family for the first time this year.

We then travelled down to Byron Bay. Thankfully the skies cleared and we were able to have our holiday of swims, surfs and hanging out on the sand. It was so lovely but the only thing missing was Finn, who had to stay in Sydney for work.

I hope you get to have your holiday soon x

A visit to Crystal Castle - Mullumbimby

We've squeezed in another quick trip to Byron before the reality of the school year starts.
While we were up here we decided to pop into Crystal Castle in the Byron hinterlands.

It had been a few years since we had visited so it was lovely to wander around the grounds and see what was new and marvel at how much everything had grown.

There is something peaceful and magical about the place. Even the boys noticed it and were quite interested in reading the little signs about the crystals and following instructions on walking the labryinth.  If you are ever in the area it is well worth a visit.

Here are some of our photos from the day -

One of the highlights was the wishing tree. It was so sweet to see the boys thinking of things to write to hang on the tree. There were quite a few "peace and love" and "world peace" on there.
One can only hope!

Last time we were in the bamboo forest I was 6 months pregnant with Noah.
It was funny to be back in the same spot with him running around. We had to grab a photo.

Have you ever been to Crystal Castle? Did you have a favourite part?

Byron Bay 2015 - a little holiday before Christmas

We just finished up our annual December trip to Byron Bay and as always, it was the perfect, relaxing time we crave at this time of year.
It was all about blue skies, warm water and endless hours spent on the beach.

We had delicious Acai bowls for breakfast on the deck. It was a lovely way to start the day.
Breakfast looking out to the frangipani trees and the ocean.

We visited The Farm for a coffee and enjoyed a browse in the shop, picked up the best Linseed and Sunflower seed sourdough and had a walk through the Macadamia orchard. My city kids were fascinated with the old tractor. It's the simple things.

I also couldn't resist a little shopping. I especially love popping into my favourites Ahoy Trader and Hope & May. I also loved everything in the Moroccan pop up shop Marr-Kett. Especially the peacock mirror. Swoon!

And of course a trip to Byron wouldn't be the same without a trip up to the lighthouse and an ice-cream whilst enjoying the view.

This trip was memorable for the fact that Jasper paddled into a wave by himself for the first time.

And Noah stood up and rode the surfboard for the first time alone. He doesn't need Simon on the back anymore.

I even caught a few waves myself. No photographic evidence though ;)
I need to keep up with them!

I love these lazy days before Christmas. It starts the holidays off right and helps melt away the stresses of the year.

I love taking photos of the boys each year in the same spaces. It's great to look back and see how much they've grown. You can see my holiday post from last year here

And also my post on Byron Bay and all of our favourite places here
