Around here lately.....

I thought I'd pop in and share some photos of what we've been up to lately. 

This summer weather is still hanging around and we are taking full advantage of it! Trips to the beach and dips in the pool are still making up a big part of our weekends. We had a visit to the zoo, I found some fab new bath products and received new bedlinen. It's all happening ;)

We hadn't been to Taronga Zoo in years and it was really lovely to wander around it the other day. There were lots of changes and more interactive experiences with the animals. Plus a cool "Wild Ropes" course we might go back and try.

We finished off the day with a swim at Balmoral. I think most of Sydney was there!

I received some new bed linen the other day and I am loving the fresh colour combination.

The pool is still getting quite a work out. The boys never get tired of swimming and jumping on the inflatables! I'm really loving how the hedge has finished off this area. 

I decided to do a little bit of Easter decorating in the kitchen. These wooden eggs and bunny from Adairs add a cute touch. The wooden blocks are from Kmart and the green bunny was from Woolies.

I did have a little bowl of Easter eggs on the bench but they are long gone!

I bought a new skin for my laptop. I'm loving the terrazzo look and these pastel colours. You can find it here. I also bought a couple of new necklaces. They are from here

I was in Target the other day and came across these gorgeous bath products. I'm a sucker for pretty packaging plus they smell amazing too! Find them here

I finally restocked my Etsy shop with some new crystals. These mixed boxes are always a hit.

So that is just a snippet of what we've been up to lately. This week will be a busy one as Noah turns 6 on Friday and is having a party with all the boys from his kindy class. 

This is the first year he has wanted a big party and I'm so excited for him. He has grown up so much these last few weeks since he has started school.

Lately.....

It's been a while since I've checked in with you all! As we head into Term 4 and the end of the year, life has sped up. Add a couple of sick kids into the mix and I'm wondering where the weeks go.

Here are a few photos from the last couple of weeks......

The weather's been great and it's been nice to get out for a walk after dropping off the kids at school.

Sickness in the house means stripping everyone's sheets and disinfecting everything!

After giving the front of the house a makeover we've moved around to the backyard. We've removed the skateboard ramp as the boys had lost interest and we'll just relay the grass all the way to the edge.

We're going to give the gardens a spruce up and splash a bit of white paint around on the fences. 

Lately I've had a few jobs styling properties for sale. I'll share more in another post but it was obvious to see I have a signature style with lots of white, rattan, prints and plants.

My little helper at home. Noah loves to be given a job! Although if he is anything like his older brothers the novelty will soon wear off! ;)

6 months after our California Trip I finally got around to framing this cactus print to remind us of our gorgeous visit to Joshua Tree.

Around here lately....

Hello! How have you been? I thought I would round up a few photos and share what has been happening around here lately. It's nothing overly exciting just the usual busy week. There is always something to be done and my "to do" list is endless! Simon was away in Bali surfing last week so I was even busier as I juggled everything myself.  Here are some photos from the past week or so.....

The weather has been lovely and you can feel it starting to warm up. Spring is just around the corner!

We have had lots of sickness in the house this winter with colds and tonsillitis, more than any other year, so hopefully this warmer weather will put an end to it.

We waved Simon off on a week's surfing trip in Bali. They were some of the best waves he's ever had so he was stoked. I feel so tired this week though as I never sleep well when he's away!

Noah's room got a little tidy and freshen up. 

I like to move the bed around every few months just to mix things up a bit ;)

I love this view when I walk in the front door. I'm usually the only one that uses this sitting area so it always stays nice and tidy. Bliss!

We had Book Week this week. We took the easy option with Jasper's costume this year! ;)

He really loves The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.

Pink tulips are brightening up the dining table this week.

The slowest ever bathroom refresh continues on.....

 Apart from the tiling which was done perfectly by Simon's uncle, everything else has had a delay. There was a crack in the vanity when they put it on the truck so we had to wait another week or so for it to be replaced. The bath facade measurements were wrong and when they went to install it the piece wouldn't fit! Another week went by while we waited for another piece to be remade. We then had the glass for the shower screen measured and when they came the measurements were wrong too! 3 different tradie errors! So frustrating, what is that saying....measure twice, cut once? Anyhoo the bathroom is usable so it hasn't inconvenienced us too much but it will be nice when it's finished.

I'm looking forward to pushing that champagne button at the end of the week! ;)

Around here lately.......

Summer is in the air and the count down til the holidays and Christmas is on. We're all ready!

I heard it's only 5 more weeks until Christmas, can that be right?!! I've started organising a few presents for the kids but time to step it up I think!

So lately I've been freshening up the house, giving it a good clean and adding a few new bits and pieces. There is something about the end of the season that inspires me to change things up.

We've also been out and about enjoying the beautiful weather and I'm loving all the colour of the trees and flowers. I've been gravitating to the pink flowers in the shops.  

It's been hot enough for the boys to go in the pool and we set up the jumping castle  in the backyard for a bit of fun through the week. I love these long afternoons. 

Catch ups with family and friends have started as the summer festive season begins and the whirl of parties, bbqs and entertaining fills up the calendar.

Here are a few moments I captured over the last couple of weeks........

I never tire of a Jacaranda against the blue sky, pure summer!

We took Noah into the aquarium and he loved it. The sharks and Dory + Nemo were the favourites.

I couldn't resist buying a bunch of peonies the other day. 

They opened up super fast and were so pretty. I loved watching them change daily.

We popped into the Harold Park Tramsheds the other day as we were in the area. 

It's a great little space. These turquoise leather stools were gorgeous.

I had this chicken salad the other day. It was the perfect mix of flavours.  

It inspired me to create a few more salads for dinners.

They're almost too big for it but while they can fit and jump around on it, they're happy!

I am loving the combo of pink and mustard at the moment. Is there anything better than fresh linen?!

More pink flowers. Mum sent me this gorgeous bunch from the florist she works in occasionally.

A delish spread put on by my sis in law the other day. I looking forward to more catch ups this Summer. The good weather is made for light meals and al fresco dining.

I bought this runner to add a little pop of colour to our entry way. I couldn't believe I found it in Big W of all places, I think it was $29. Bargain!!

Around here lately....

I've been embracing the Spring weather and getting out and about catching up with friends. 

I always feel more social in the warmer weather! ;) 

I finally made it up to The Newport to check out their renovation and have lunch there. I love the fresh new look. The gardens feel very "Palm Springs" and has inspired me to start my own cactus garden.

The other place I hadn't been to for years was the Art Gallery of NSW to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition and to have lunch. I forgot what a lovely place it was and such a great place to catch up with a friend. We loved the exhibition (my favourites were her self portraits) and it has made me want to watch the Frida movie made years ago with Salma Hayek and read up a bit more on her.

I've also been Spring cleaning and changing up a few things in each bedroom. Moving beds around and changing artwork, adding a couple of new things into the mix. It feels good!

I'm feeling pink this week and love the new prints above our bed. Prints found here

I had a browse through Kmart the other day and this rug and a couple of baskets came home with me for Noah's room.

I've also been mixing up where I've been walking through the week but it's always near water and the view is always beautiful. Love the sun sparking off the water. The water looks so tempting but it is way too cold for me. I don't usually go in the ocean until December!
