Visual Diary - October 2021

 I've rounded up a few photos from the last couple of weeks... 

Life has opened up a bit more since lockdown has ended in Sydney. We have enjoyed a quiet reentry back into the new normal with catch ups with friends and family, eating out and the all important visit to the hairdresser! The boys had their first day back at school today and were excited to be reunited with their classmates.

Night Noodle Markets - 2019

It's that time of year again, the Night Noodle Markets are back in Sydney.

Simon and I drove into the city on Tuesday night to have dinner and a browse around the food stalls in Hyde Park. One of our favourite dishes of the night were the levitating noodles from Flying Noodles. Such a cool optical illusion and delicious too! We also tried the chip on a stick and some bao buns.  Later on we grabbed dessert from Messina and as usual their flavour combinations were unique and sooo good. I've popped some pics from the night......

We arrived early at 5ish as the markets opened so lines were short and the tables plentiful but as the night wore on the crowds got bigger and the lines for each stall were longer so get there early if you can! It was lovely to pop in again for a mid week date night. 

It's always a cool vibe and there are also a couple of bar areas if you just want to sit and have a drink and catch up with friends. Also a few ping pong tables if you're up for a game!

Around here lately.....

We're here at the end of Term 3 and ready to jump into a couple of weeks of school holidays. 

Again these weeks have flown by I can't believe we are almost in October already.

I'd thought I'd share a few photos of what I've been up to lately.....

My cacti are growing so well. Once we took them out of their pots and planted them in the ground they took off! Now I just want to trim them to keep them this height.

We had a lovely lunch at The Newport for my mother in law's birthday. 

It was the perfect spring day.

Noah loved his first soccer presentation and the fact that he received 2 medals!

Fresh flowers always brighten up the house

My 2 real ferns died recently after thriving beautifully in this spot for the last few years. 

I decided to replace them with faux ferns from Jumbled Online. 

Now I don't have to worry about watering them or killing them again! ;)

There was an airport run which also means a donut run....

The boys went to a party with the Reptile Man.

Spring is teasing us with a couple of hot days then back to cold. I'm so ready for the warmer weather and to fling the doors open!

Sculptures By The Sea - Bondi 2016

Simon and did our annual Sculpture by the Sea walk from Bondi to Tamarama today. 

The sun was out, the crowds were minimal and it was such a great way to start to the week.

Here are a few photos I took along the way -

The Grounds by The Sea was back again this year with a new look.  The feel is of an Arizona desert house with it's pink walls and cactus garden. Loved it! We stopped halfway for a coffee and a pastry. 

They are open each night until 7pm. Such a great spot for a stroll and a drink after work.

As we walked I did notice that the amount of sculptures on display seemed less than previous years.

Not quite sure why? 

My favourites would have to be the nude man staring out to sea and the rhino in the sand.

We always walk the back streets to avoid the crowds on the way back to the car.

I love seeing the different style houses and street art.
