Sculptures By The Sea - Bondi 2016

Simon and did our annual Sculpture by the Sea walk from Bondi to Tamarama today.
The sun was out, the crowds were minimal and it was such a great way to start to the week.

Here are a few photos I took along the way -

The Grounds by The Sea was back again this year with a new look.  The feel is of an Arizona desert house with it's pink walls and cactus garden. Loved it! We stopped halfway for a coffee and a pastry.
They are open each night until 7pm. Such a great spot for a stroll and a drink after work.

As we walked I did notice that the amount of sculptures on display seemed less than previous years.
Not quite sure why?
My favourites would have to be the nude man staring out to sea and the rhino in the sand.

We always walk the back streets to avoid the crowds on the way back to the car.
I love seeing the different style houses and street art.

Have you been to Sculptures by the Sea this year? Which piece was your favourite?

Sculptures by the Sea 2015

Sculptures by the Sea is back at Bondi and Simon and I did our annual walk and browse.
It was a very grey day and the storm clouds looked threatening but the rain held off until later in the day.  As usual it was a busy scene with lots of school groups and others wandering around.
Luckily we were in no rush and had a lovely morning looking at the art and stopping for a coffee at The Grounds pop up restaurant.

Here are a few of my photos from the day :

I always have to take a photo of Bondi Icebergs when I'm over that way. It is just stunning!

Sculptures by the Sea is on until the 8th November and is well worth a look if you are in Bondi.

You can see some of the previous Sculptures by the Sea we've been to here, here, here and here

My favourite sculptures were the Barbie wave, the giant Spray bottles on the sand that squirted water and the giant hand.

Have you been? Which was your favourite?

Sculptures by the Sea - Bondi 2014

We went for a walk at Bondi today and checked out the annual Sculptures by the Sea.

It was the perfect day for a seaside stroll with the sun shining, slight ocean breeze and not overly crowded.

We started at the Icebergs. I love that place!
It always looks so beautiful and I can never resist taking a photo.

Here are a few(a lot!)snaps I took along the way.
If you want to go and check it out yourself, look away! ;)

A new addition this year was the pop up cafe by The Grounds set up amongst the sculptures. I thought it was a great idea as you could stop for a coffee or a drink along the week and added to the whole social vibe of the walk/art.

We only ever walk to Tamarama so I don't know if the sculptures continue?

This is about the 4th year that we've been and some pieces are a bit similar to previous years but there is always one or two standouts. This year I loved the whale and the frying pan.

Have you been? What was your favourite sculpture?

Thinking about checking it out?

Sculptures by the Sea

Each year Simon and I like to walk the Bondi to Bronte path and check out the Sculptures by the Sea.  This year Noah came along too.

I always love the look of Bondi Icebergs.
Imagine having that as your local swimming spot.

Here are some of my favourite sculptures this year...

The walk was beautiful as always, my favourite sculpture would have to be the reflective upside down sphere. Gorgeous!

We took the back way back to the car as the path was starting to get a little overcrowded. There were so many stunning houses to look at and I couldn't resist taking a pic of this gate.

The blue gate and the pink bougainvillea look perfect together!

Have you seen the sculptures yet? Planning on going?
