Thanks to SleepMaker we got the chance to give our bedroom a makeover.
The timing was perfect as the renovations were complete and our bedroom needed a fresh new look to match the rest of the house. We kept most of our existing furniture and homewares but a few new bits and pieces were added. This included a new bed.
Our old bed was so low to the ground you couldn't vacuum under it so I wanted something lighter and airier. I also got Simon to make a bench for the end of the bed. So great to have a handy husband!
You can read my previous post on which SleepMaker mattress we chose and how we narrowed it down here
Of course Noah wanted to test out the new mattress immediately! ;)
After being out of the house for 5 weeks while the renovations were happening, I have a new appreciation for my own bed and my own house.
It was great to potter around and create a new relaxed, comfy sanctuary.
Here are a few photos from our refreshed space -
My love of typography and prints is still strong as you can see here!
I wanted the art above the bed to be a feature and have a romantic, coupley theme.
Neutral colours were also important as I wanted them to complement any colour of linen on the bed.
You can't really dress up a tv but we love to watch an episode of something before we go to sleep.
A beaded ball chandelier in white was on my wishlist for ages.
I just needed to find one in my budget and I did!
His side
Her side
The bench Simon made was a quick DIY and is the perfect spot to sit and pop your shoes on.
Noah is also using it as a step to launch himself on the bed!
I can't tell you how wonderful our sleep has been since the mattress arrived.
Also the softness of the washed grey linen quilt cover has me lingering there in the mornings and doing a bit of work from bed. We have been on school holidays after all ;)
I'm not the only one hanging out there!
SleepMaker was so generous and also gifted me a Queen Sleep Pack
Consisting of 2 x pillows, 2 x pillow protectors, 1 x quilt and 1 x mattress protector.
I've also got one to give away - valued at $700.00.
Jasper can vouch for how comfy and snuggly they are!
Leave me a comment below if you would like to enter. I'll draw the winner next week.
Good Luck!
Perfect timing as we change over the bed linen and quilts for the cooler weather.
I'm in love with our bedroom makeover and hope you love it too!

I love the use of graphic posters in the bedroom, I hadn't thought of using them in an adult space previously. They are a great contrast with the dreamy bedding set up!

ReplyDeleteLove the look of your new bedroom - totally my style! We are hoping to re-do our bedroom soon too - it will be nice to replace the old bed with the peeling pleather headboard and the warped base slats (obviously no stronger than toothpicks considering that half of them collapse as soon as anyone heavier than my 7 year old sits on the bed!). Would really love to win this prize to get us inspired to start the bedroom renovation :)
ReplyDeleteVery lovely. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I've got the same linen quilt cover, but definitely need a new doona to fill it out more nicely! ;)

ReplyDeleteThat does look very comfy! Thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteLove the black white and grey theme you've gone for! looks great, and nice and cosy for the cooler months. I'm also a huge fan of the beaded chandelier - they're so beautiful and just a little different. We will definitely be buying a new bed/mattress when we move into our new (and our first!) home in a couple of months - our current mattress is almost 20 years old, eek! Hopefully i can persuade the other half to factor a beaded chandelier into the budget!! Thanks for the inspiration, and the chance to win the amazing prize! Chloe :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing job you did! The whole room looks so polished and relaxing, exactly what a bedroom should be :)
ReplyDeleteI bet you felt a little silly in the store "pretending" to sleep and roll around the bed to make sure you selected the right mattress. My husband and I have done it before, but chickened out at the last minute before purchasing as we're so worried we're not going to select the right one! Having said that though, we desperately need to just bite the bullet as we've been together for 11years and had a double bed that WHOLE time!
I mean I love him and all, but seriously? I think it's time for our own grown up bed! Hahaha.
Bedroom envy! Would love to win the pack - bedding is something I'd love to spend more money on but never do. Might be time to start I think.
ReplyDeleteThought I would take this opportunity to say I Love, love, love your style Simone. I am constantly on your blog, pinterest and Instagram for some inspo.
ReplyDeleteFair to say I have been inspired and used a lot of your ideas and pins...you would not want me to list them all :) Couldn't pass up the opportunity to enter. xx
Oh. my. goodness.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing giveaway - I need new bedding desperately! I moved and gave my old bedding to a girlfriend in need.
p.s. Such a cute little family you have! :) xoxo

ReplyDeleteI love the bedroom makeover, too!!! It feels like a place to settle or even relax. I noticed your mention of how much better you've been sleeping since your new mattress arrived. I've been considering purchasing an ortho mattress because I have heard they help out with back pain. It's great to hear that this mattress has improved her sleep quality. I am certainly going to explore getting one. Do you recommend any specific brands, or do you have any tips for choosing an ortho mattress?
