Well I have one of my bookcases in and "styled" up and I love it!
Big hugs and kisses to Simon for doing an amazing job with the Billy bookcases from Ikea. We ended up going with 5 Billy bookcases (4 large and 1 small), bookcase extenders and doors. We saved over $3000 going with this option instead of having them custom built. You can't beat that! Although I don't think Simon wants to look at another flat pack for a while :)
Just a few finishing touches to go, like the trims around the bookcases to give that "built in" feel.
I'm proud to say all the bits n bobs are from my cupboards. I knew they would be used eventually :)
So what do you think?
The progress.....
Simone xx
all images my own :)
Wow, I think it looks fantastic! I thought the first picture was from a magazine. I didn't realise you could put the extenders and doors. Simon did a fantastic job, I know how time consuming that must have been. Well done! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing hon xo
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Some edging will really finish it off and make it look built in. What pretty things you have! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteimpressive!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, perfectly fits your space too! Would love to see a shot with the edging on
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the edging as well!! Great idea, definately one to file away for future use.
ReplyDeleteWill definately show pics with the edging, also the rest of the room xx
ReplyDeleteSimone...that looks awesome! Love it..and what a nice way to appreciate your favourite little pieces...like your bunnies ; )
ReplyDeleteI have two of the billy bookcases aswell in the berch...have had them for a while now....but was thinking the other day of perhaps freshening it up now and painting the back panel boards a charcoal colour...or wallpapering? mind is always ticking..lol
Looks like it has always been there! Very nice and I love the doors too - gives it style!
ReplyDeleteWow that looks amazing! Pity I just did my last IKEA mission a couple of weeks ago. On a side note, would you mind sharing the paint colour on the walls? My flooring and furniture is similar to yours and your walls work so well with it, thanks!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it make a huge difference? Love, love, love Ikea for those Billy bookcases (they are in our library). Yours look great Simone. gxo
ReplyDeleteSimone, they look awesome!! SO stylish and well displayed with all your gorgeous bits and bobs. I'd love to see a photo of them from a distance to see how they fit in with the rest of your room - I'm wondering if this option might be possible for what we're after. Bet Simon is glad that job is over :) Love your blue cushion on the couch too x
ReplyDeleteLooks gorgeous! You've given me (a design fail person) something different to consider than the expedit. It uses the space so well and stylishly. Thank you so much for sharing this. I appreciate it very much.
ReplyDeleteSimone, it looks amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE! Can you come here & re-create it at my house LOL!!!

My dream, a wall of bookcases!!
ReplyDeleteCan I borrow Simon?!!!!!
I am in awe of what you saved on this project Simone, that is incredible!
ReplyDeleteIt looks AMAZING! Love the design of the actual space AND all the delightful decorative additions. If you're not already, you two should go into interior design... I'd pay you to sort my schmozzle of a place out ;o) Thanks for sharing your pics xo
