I've always loved putting the boys rooms together, I think kids rooms are the most fun to do. There doesn't seem to be any rules. A comfy bed, good storage and space to play seems to be my top priorities when I'm thinking about their rooms.
With 3 boys I think I've tried most "themes" and colour schemes over the years, I don't know if I'd know how to do a girls room. I know I'd want to use a lot of pink! ;)
When I want to freshen things up a bit (without breaking the bank) in the boys rooms, a new pillowcase or print can make a huge difference.
I've put together 11 of my current favourite things to add that pop of fun to a child's room.
Take a look -
A new pillowcase always adds a fresh vibe to the bedroom. It can refresh your current linen and is also a cute and subtle way to bring in your child's favourite character.
A fun decoration and also doubles as a night light/reading lamp
Perfect for dress ups and celebrations but also looks pretty sitting on a shelf or hanging on the corner of a picture/print. An indian head dress is a cute idea for boys.
I am loving anything cactus at the moment and this print is so cool and adds a bit of colour to a wall.
I love the neutral colours of this play mat. It would blend into any room and I love decor that also combines with imaginative play. Noah would love this to drive all of his matchbox cars on.
This would ensure sweet dreams! It would work for both a boys or girls room.
I love linen that can be swapped between rooms. I would use this myself.
These look great on a shelf and would also add a little scenery to a game ;)
The neutral colours fit in with any colour scheme but they do come in other colours.
8 & 9. Wall Stickers from Sack Me
I love wall stickers! Such an easy way to change up a room. So easy to pop up and take down when you feel like something different. I love the illustrated bunny.
This is so gorgeous and girly and would look so pretty on the wall or over a bedhead.
I love framing tea towels and popping them on the wall as art. I love the colours and the message of this one. Look for something personal to you. Maybe your child's favourite animal. We have a tiger print in Noah's room as it was the first animal sound he knew.
Here are a few pics from Finn, Jasper and Noah's rooms -
I love browsing Pinterest for inspiration for kids rooms. I've popped a few favourites below-
What do you think? Anything you know that your kids would love?
