Lockdown update

Hello! We are still in lockdown, now going into week 6.

Life has settled into a routine of school work, a walk/exercise and a few jobs around the house.

We are losing track of time and days but even though our commitments outside the house have slowed, our days are very full and the usual household jobs are keeping me busy. Especially with everyone home all of the time.

Simon and I are also chipping away at the jobs we can do for the renovation that we don't need tradies for.

Simon had a birthday, cards and cake were the order of the day plus a gift voucher for a surf trip when this all ends! We also have Finn's birthday coming up.

I've popped some photos down below of our week...

A summer weekend.

Most of the week was constant rain so we were really happy to see the sun come out over the weekend. We went to a wedding on the beach, drank grapefruit margaritas (well Simon and I did) and then had a lazy day at home with all the pool toys and an inflatable castle.
We enjoyed the sunshine and the feeling that summer had returned!

I brought our old dining table back inside this week as our round one had started to split. I'm enjoying the change while we get it fixed. Noah's favourite toy Woody had a little accident. Just like the movie! It was just a popped seam and we managed to sew him up so he is almost as good as new ;)

How was your weekend? I hope you got to enjoy a little sun x

A ' whale ' of a time - in the backyard

The backyard, one of your brothers, matching boardshorts, a hose and a giant whale sprinkler is all we need around here on a hot afternoon :)
PS - the whale is from Pottery Barn. I picked it up in store. Not sure if it's online

PPS - I'm so in love with the camera on my iphone5s I don't know if I will ever pick up my real camera again!

It's faux!

So after the renovations inside (pics and info to come) our thoughts turned to outside.
Especially as the warmer weather is coming we wanted to make outside more comfortable, nicer and neater.

The boys are always in the backyard either using the skateboard ramp, in the cubby or kicking a ball around.

Along with a dog and rabbit that like to dig holes, the yard was looking a little tired and unloved.

Simon wanted an easier and maintenance free option and as it is his "domain" I let him go with his idea of artificial grass. Although I never thought I would have it in my backyard I have to admit the yard looks neater and is more user friendly (no bindies and holes!) and it looks always looks lovely and green ;)

Day 1

Day 2

We are spending more time out there and the "grass" is actually nice and soft and great for the boys to play on. I'm thinking I will eventually get my backyard back in about 15 years(!!!) when everyone is done with skating and won't wreck the grass ;)
Back in your cage Fifi!

Inside looking out

The dog doesn't seem fazed by it and the rabbit is not allowed to roam free on it.
It's working for us for now, we'll see how it goes!!

all images my own
We used a company located in Botany called The Grassman
The whole yard only took 2 days, the guys were great and cleaned up all their mess.
So wonderful after a drawn out renovation!!

Every backyard should have a pool :)

Don't you think every backyard should have a pool?

There is something so fun about them. Endless entertainment for the kids and such a pleasure to cool off in your own pool on a hot day!

They also add a little colour and glamour to the backyard.

Here are some gorgeous pools:)

And our own pool.

Our pool. Excuse the collection of soccer balls & screaming child!
He wanted to go in the pool and I said no! :)

Hope you have a wonderful Friday
