The prettiest way to travel - a renovation on a motor home.

I first came across Pauline's gorgeous photos of her travels on Instagram.

Then I noticed they were doing their trip in the prettiest motor home. I was amazed to see how cosy and stylish she managed to make such a small space. She recently wrote a blog post on how they renovated this motor home in a week. You can read all of the details here

Below I've included photos of their gorgeous space. What a great way to travel!

I have noticed so many families lately packing up their lives and setting out for a year of travel. Either in a caravan around Australia or even further with a world trip.

It's such a huge step! Is it something you can see yourself doing?

An afternoon snack - chocolate bark

I made this Chocolate Bark the other day when everyone was craving something sweet.
I had some milk chocolate melts in the cupboard and a packet of trail mix so I decided to combine the two. It would be even better with dark chocolate but the kids are not fans!

I can't wait to make it again with other toppings like raspberries, coconut etc. Anything goes!

Not to mention Christmas is coming up and it becomes all about the Peppermint Bark from William Sonoma. Have you tried it?

What's your favourite version of Chocolate Bark?

Every summer it's nice to take stock of your wardrobe and give it a little refresh. It feels good to replace the tired, worn items and add a few new items and colours to give your wardrobe a lift.

Below are a few things that have caught my eye for summer.......

I've also included some summer looks I'm loving!

Marcia from @notsomumsy always gets it right

Staging a property for Sale

As you probably know Simon and I have a Real Estate business on Sydney's Northern Beaches. While my role is mainly behind the scenes dealing with admin and client pampering I sometimes help  him with staging a property for sale when the need arises.

Recently Simon was selling a  3 bedroom duplex that was unfurnished and was looking a little cold and unloved. The 2 living areas were an odd shape and undefined and Simon could see that purchasers were having trouble visualising how they would live in these spaces.

We agreed on a budget with the owner and I began to pull together a mood board and do a floor plan to work out which furniture was needed and what lay out would work best.

As the property is near the beach,  I wanted to do a modern coastal vibe. I also wanted to stick to my "signature look" with lots of white, rattan, large prints and indoor plants as I know that works.
I wanted to stretch the budget as far as I could so I looked for inexpensive pieces from Kmart, Ikea and Fantastic Furniture to furnish the house. I added in a few accessories to soften everthing and give the property a homely feel.

Below is a few of the pieces I put together to give this duplex a beachy feel.

Below is a couple of photos of the property before. The duplex had been given a fresh coat of white paint and new carpet laid. It was a blank canvas.

I kept things fairly simple and divided the rooms into a living space and a dining space

You can see a peek of the transformation below......
(I snapped a few on my phone before I left)

I've listed my sources of the furniture and homewares below:

Sofas - Ikea

Rugs - Home on Darley

Armchairs - Kmart

Coffee Table - Ikea

Side Table - Kmart

TV Cabinets - Fantastic Furniture

Prints - Etsy - try Lila x Lola or SisiandSeb

Frames - Kmart

Baskets - Kmart

Dining Table - Fantastic Furniture

Dining Chairs - Fantastic Furniture

Artificial Plants - Adairs

I love that I can use my passion for interiors in new spaces. I love the challenge of creating a "home" from a blank canvas.

I think it's definitely easier to visualise your own furniture in a space that's already furnished as opposed to an empty property. What do you think?

Halloween 2017

Did you celebrate Halloween yesterday?

We kept things pretty low key here. Just a few decorations, a spooky cake for afternoon tea and costumes dug out from last year.

Jasper was invited to a friend's Halloween street party and to go trick or treating, Finn has outgrown it all and Noah wasn't overly fussed about celebrating. He just wanted to dress as Spiderman and eat some of Jasper's "treats".

Below are some photos of our Halloween -

This spider is so creepy! I had to gather all my courage just to touch it and hang it on the door!

Noah and I made this cake for afternoon tea. Our favourite chocolate cake, some meringue ghosts and eyes from the cake aisle at Woolies. Too easy!

Now that Halloween is over I feel like I can start thinking about all things Christmas!
My favourite time of the year! x
