Bliss Balls are the perfect afternoon snack. A little healthy something to get you through to dinner time. I remember eating a Byron Bay Bliss Ball (while on holiday in Byron) about 10 years ago and trying to guess what was in there and recreate it. I never quite managed it but I did happen to stumble across heaps of different recipes and the one below is our favourite.
Recipe for Bliss Balls
1 x cup of pitted dates
1 1/2 x tablespoons of unprocessed cocoa powder
2 x tablespoons of raw cacao powder
2 x teaspoons of vanilla bean paste
1 cup combined of almonds & cashews
Desiccated coconut for rolling the balls into.
I just throw everything into the food processor together and give it a blitz.
Keep pulsing until all the nuts are finely chopped.
Use damp hands and roll them into balls.
Roll the balls in desiccated coconut.
Store in the fridge.
Super simple!

Yum these look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI soak a cup of dates in hot water then blitz. Add a cup of almond meal, 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup coconut oil , tbs chia seeds and mix it all together. Because I am lazy and making balls takes too long I put dedicated coconut in the bottom of a slice tray, mix in, more coconut on top and then whack it in the freezer. Then I just chop it up later. Yum
ReplyDeleteMy go-to recipe is very similar. Sometimes I'll add some chia seeds and like above, soak the dates. Bonus is my two year old thinks it's chocolate.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your pics are always so beautiful. Is your home just blessed with good lighting or have you got a trick?
