It's amazing how delicate they are.
I change the water every couple of days and trim the stems to prolong their life.
I also read if you pop an ice cube into the vase each day this is supposed to help the tulips last longer.
When all that fails and the tulip's time is up, I have started experimenting with creating a face out of the foliage.
I was inspired by a couple of accounts on IG, one of them being Justina Blakeney.
I can't go past a pink tulip.
What is one of your favourite flowers?
Gorgeous! Tulips are one of my absolute favourites, and like you I love watching them change over the course of the week.
ReplyDeleteI adore the stunning face you made too!
I do love tulips, I wanted them as a wedding bouquet but it was not the right season. I love the smell of gardenias and you can't beat tropical foliage and birds of paradise I think!
ReplyDeleteTulips are lovely, they remind me of my nan. Flowers just make you feel happy. I brought some small yellow lillies the other week and they lasted ages. I replaced them today with some lovely yellow roses. I think I have a thing for yellow...haha
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite flower will always be the Oriental Lily. Its so robust, the sent is intoxicating and above all it reminds me of my wedding day.
They are stunning tulips and beautiful images. Love the flower face, you are so creative and clever :) I'm a big fan of tulips, but also love Gerberas and Roses, so many spectacular colours and colour combos with those blooms xo
