I've been meaning to post about seeing the new Gatsby movie a few weeks ago.
Simon and I went to see it in 3D for my birthday and I loved it!
It was an over the top, decadent extravaganza. I felt like my mind couldn't take it all in. Pure fantasy.
The interiors, clothes and the attention to detail was amazing.
I feel like I have to see it again to absorb it all.
That scene where you entered Daisy's house and those white curtains were billowing, was so beautiful!
Loved this afternoon tea scene. Oh those flowers!
And how gorgeous is Leo?! Perfect for Jay Gatsby.
I'm also loving all the Gatsby inspired fashion around and the 20's parties.
Have you seen the movie yet?
What did you think?
I look forward to watching this movie soon. Looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThat scene in Daisy's house seriously gave me goosebumps... was so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes, and I loved it too. Leo is just perfect! I totally got swept away by it all, although it did take me a while to adjust to the 3D. It will be added to my DVD collection.
ReplyDeleteOhhh Simone, I saw it a couple of weekends ago with a friend, we LOVED it! I totally agree though, so super keen to watch it again, as I just feel like there was so much to take in and not enough time to do it all... didn't help that the only seats we could get were in the FRONT ROW, haha, it was larger than life viewing that's for sure! Must say I am a big big fan of Baz's productions, always so out there and fascinating. The afternoon tea scene was magic... and Leo, well I have adored him for many years now and he just keeps getting better xo
ReplyDeleteI saw it... Loved it! So glad I saw it on the big screen too - great to see the crazy and awesome world that Luhrmann created!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all of your kind messages of support over these months, Simone! I'm back on the blog with some exciting news :-)
I didn't - I don't even know if it is in the cinemas in Germany yet. I know the old film version with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow and LOVED that one so I will definitely see the new version, although I'm not a huge fan of DiCaprio... I love the style of the twenties!
