Simon and I decided to surprise Finn and Jasper with a trip to the Easter Show yesterday.
(Noah stayed at home with Nanna)
We sent the boys to school as usual and picked them up at lunch time and drove out to the Show.
(this used to be my favourite ride as a kid)
(wouldn't be the show without a dagwood dog)
I don't think we could have picked a better day or time to go.
It was so uncrowded and no lines for anything. It was so good! We got there at about 2.30pm and left at 9.30pm after the fireworks and some last rides to use up our last tickets.
A fun packed afternoon and night. Our feet were a little tired at the end! Jasper did so well to keep up with his little legs. I think the adrenalin, excitement and sugar kept him going :)
We only go to the Easter Show every few years so it makes it a bit more special and exciting.
It was Jasper's first time and he loved it!
So are you going to the Easter Show this year?
What is your favourite part?
all images my own
Your pics are stunning and cute.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your boys did have fun
this is something they will remember for the rest of their lives.
Thanks so much Ann, I hope they do remember these times xx
DeleteWhat a wonderful idea to surprise them! I'm looking forward to going this year! Love the woolies Dome
ReplyDeleteYes, loved seeing their faces and they were extra appreciative. So nice! Have a great time x
DeleteYou got the dino ribs? How was it?
ReplyDeleteWe went yesterday too, with 3 kids under 5. It was exhausting to say the least.
Great photos too. Wish I took more.
x
Simon had the ribs, said it was quite good. You should have seen the stares he got as he ate it! Too funny :) It was so hot yesterday, I can imagine how exhausted you were. You had your hands too full to be taking photos! xx
DeleteOh I LOVE the show. I still believe it was better in the old showground but it's such an awesome way to spend a day. My absolute fav is the woodchop. I could sit there all day. And as for rides, you just can't pass up the 'big slide' if you ask me :) Happy Easter x
ReplyDeleteSame, love the woodchop. We were cheering away during the Australia vs NZ woodchop ( we won! ) Yes the boys had 3 slides in a row. Quite a work out getting to the top! xx
DeleteLooks like a lot of fun Simone. Lovely pics too. We have our big show in October, often on my birthday so I quite enjoy it though haven't been for a few years. Maybe this year? Have a peaceful easter x
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful Easter too Sarah. Yes I think spacing the Show out every few years keeps things fresh and a bit special xx
DeleteI'm loving the swinging chairs and Ferris wheel pics Simone! They are lovely and would look great on canvas! The chairs were my favourite too :) I'm hoping to take my daughter along to the show for the first time this year...
ReplyDeleteSophie xo
Thanks Sophie, hope you enjoy the Show if you get to take your daughter this year. Have a go on the swings whilst your there! Happy Easter xx
ReplyDeleteI was there on the same day (if my math is correct) and loved it. My son got to have a day off from school, so he was super excited (as was I).
