Now I'm not a huge planner when it comes to my dinner menus.
I go through phases when I do it but generally what I like to do is keep a few recipes on the fridge to give me inspiration when I am feeling a little stuck. It is also easier to eat healthier when the meals are planned out too.
I usually find my recipes in magazines as I am a sucker for a pretty picture! I do have a subscription to the Donna Hay magazine and you can't go wrong with her recipes. They are simple and delicious.
I also sometimes by a food magazine whilst at the supermarket or even a magazine like the Womens Weekly. For some reason I have been buying this magazine way before I was in their demographic as my mum used to buy it and when I moved out of home I started buying it too :)
Here are some recipes which have caught my eye :
Parmesan Crusted Lamb Cutlets
Indian Style Vegetable Curry
Grilled Chicken with Avocado and Tomato Salsa
Grilled Prawn Couscous Salad
Pork Cutlet with Porcini Couscous Salad
Gruyere and Fennel Flatbreads
So there are a few ideas to choose from. As the weather gets warmer it is lovely to have a salad for dinner with a bit of protein added. Although I also usually do a Spaghetti Bolognese at least once a week as it is Finn's favourite.
Sorry the pics aren't the best but I just took snaps of the recipes I ripped out!
Are you a menu planner? What is your family's favourite dish?
Linda from Pink Patent Mary Janes is the best menu planner.
I love reading about what she will be having for dinner each week!

Simone I've just stumbled on your blog and I'm glad that I did! It's a lovely space and I'm going to enjoy exploring it!
ReplyDeleteYou're recipes are mouth watering! I'm loving the prawn and couscous one! I'm with you... Loving that salad season is coming up! I just planted Kitchen Herb Pots so that I can spice up summer cooking and salads!
Happy cooking...

Oh yes, spaghetti bolognese is a regular weekly meal around here too Simone. Menu planning is something I'm not very good at, but I always admire (and drool) over at PPMJ's too. I'm forever on the hunt for new & tasty recipes too, some of these look great... Love that flatbread! xo
ReplyDeleteAll of these look nice, I do stick to my tried and true with not too much room for experimenting, but that time will come.x
