My mum is coming up for a visit tomorrow. Yay!! I can't wait!
My mum and I are so close, so not having her nearby is hard as both myself, the boys and Simon miss her so much.
She was living just around the corner from us until a year ago when she decided to go and follow her dream of owning a pub in the country town she grew up in.
The town is a teensy town called Euabalong in NSW, population of about 150 people but there is a bigger town about 30kms away. Mum grew up here and when the opportunity came up for her to lease the hotel with her cousin she decided to go for it. It was a big move and it took a while to get used to it, but I still wish she would move closer. I think she agrees that the gloss has worn off and she needs to be closer. We will see!
Anyway we will all be joined at the hip over the weekend.
There is nothing like having your mum around :)
Mums are so important! We often walk past houses in the neighbourhood and my 4 year old son says "I wish Ma and Pa lived there (my parents) so we could walk to their house". That would be very Raymond(!), but it is nice having them about 20 minutes away, they help us heaps.
ReplyDeleteI know, my mum used to help out sooo much which we always appreciated! We are lucky to have Simon's parents just around the corner still, but we have to share them with 5 other grandchildren :)
ReplyDeleteI know just how you feel, I live on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria and 10 years ago my Mum moved to Brunswick Heads in NSW. At first it was fine as we had a great holiday destination but since having my children I really feel the distance. It's great when she comes down as she stays here and we get quality time but as you know, it's just not the same.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time with your mum Simone! It is so lovely that you are all so close. xx
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time with your Mum Simone. Love those photos, especially the second one. That's great that your Mum decided to embark on her 'pub adventure' :)
ReplyDeleteHi Simone, good that your mum went for her dream - if she didn't, it would have left her wondering "what if". Have a lovely time with her. x
ReplyDeleteOh enjoy my dear!
ReplyDeleteAnd go Mumma Fizz! Everyone at some stage in their life dreams of owning a pub... but not many actually take the plunge and do it! :) x
Sounds like you guys are going to have a wonderful weekend...Enjoy xx
ReplyDeleteMy mum lives just five minutes away now, but when we first moved to Brisbane from Sydney it was really hard being so far away from each other. Enjoy your time together this weekend! K xx
