Kinfolk Workshop - an amazing afternoon

I love Kinfolk Magazine and its aesthetic, so when I heard they were holding a workshop just down the road from me I knew I had to go.

The whole event was so gorgeous it was like stepping into a page of a magazine. My photos don't do it justice.

I went with my sister in law Emma and on arrival we greeted our hosts and chatted to other guests.
The were about 30 of us all up.
The surroundings were beautiful and we were seated under a rustic tent on handmade log stools at little tables.

We made Herbal Firestarters. Brown paper filled with rosemary, thyme, cinnamon, straw, twigs etc and tied together with string.
They smelt divine!

We then gathered round the campfire to cook corn on the cob with lashings of butter. All the food was organic and made by Jane Grover (author of Naked Food). Everything was delicious!

After eating our corn we milled around the beautiful grounds. The house where the event was held belongs to Silvia of The Lost and Found Department. The whole place looks like a movie set. Divine!

Next course was a wonderful Pumpkin and Ginger soup with a dollop of yoghurt and a slice of damper.

Followed by a Pork and Fennel sausage we grilled on the fire. This was served with a homemade tomato relish. It was so lovely to sit by the fire, listening to the live music playing (3 girls with the most exquisite voices) and eating our sausages on a stick.

We met some lovely people that we knew from Instagram and it was such a nice relaxing way to spend a Saturday afternoon. It was such a chilled vibe.

Before heading home we had dessert. Smores which was a homemade square of raspberry marshmallow sandwiched between 2 digestive biscuits that were topped with a chocolate ganache. Heaven!

You roast the marshmallow first, pop it on a ganache covered biscuit and then sandwich with another biscuit.
So sticky,so delicious!

We drove home smelling of campfire smoke so happy that we got to experience this.It was absolutely magical.
