Noah turns 8!

Amongst all of the craziness + uncertainty in the world at the moment, our baby turned 8!

It was definitely a quieter birthday than other years. Due to COVID19 we cancelled his birthday party and a family gathering and instead celebrated with balloons, presents, a day together at home and a birthday cake for dessert.

Our beautiful boy was thrilled with his day and totally understood the need for a different kind of celebration this year. Definitely a birthday to remember.

8 years of smiles and happiness. We love you Noah xx

Noah turns 7!

Our gorgeous Noah turned 7 on the weekend.
He had been counting down the days until his birthday and he was so excited to celebrate!

We had cake and presents with the family on Saturday and a party with his school friends on the Sunday. His birthday was well and truly celebrated!

Party bag preparation....

We outsourced his party again this year. It's been a long time since we have had a party at home and honestly I don't think we ever will again. It's so nice to have the kids entertained and leave the mess behind! As well as sitting back and watching the kids enjoy themselves instead of rushing about.

There were trampolines, party games, tug of war, races etc
They had the best time :)

For the cake for his friends I grabbed a chocolate Sara Lee slab cake and decorated it with smarties.
Too easy!

Happy birthday to our sweet Noah. We love you soooo much!

The photo below came up on my Facebook memories, it was from Noah's 2nd birthday.
I can't believe how much they have all grown up over the past 5 years. It really goes so fast.

How was your weekend?

Noah turns 5!

We've had a lovely few days celebrating Noah turning 5.  On his actual birthday we had presents, cupcakes at kindy and a birthday cake for afternoon tea. We well and truly celebrated his day!

On the weekend we had family over for a birthday lunch with a super hero theme.
I wanted to decorate but also keep it simple so I decided to get out the butcher paper and paint and make a little 'cityscape' backdrop and "superhero" table runner.  I used Noah's toys for the centrepieces and bought a pack of mixed masks from Big W's party shop to use for place settings, colour and add a bit of fun. Coloured balloons tied to the chandelier finished off the party feel.

This is probably my last super hero party for the boys! They have all went through their Spiderman/Batman phases and it's such a fun stage.

We had Pimms + a platter to start, bbq and salad for lunch and a delicious chocolate cake to finish up.
The kids played a couple of intense games of "pin the badge on Batman" and "pass the parcel"
I love the excitement on their faces!

We made some "thank you" chocolates up to give to everyone as they left. We bought the chocolates from Woolies (a mix of milk + white chocolate), unwrapped the outer wrapper and popped on our own one that we made. A cute little way for Noah to thank his guests :)

Happy birthday to our gorgeous Noah! We hope you had the most wonderful birthday.
We love you! xx

Happy birthday Noah!

Our littlest is 5 today! I can't believe how the years have flown!

He woke up bright and early to find a big 5 balloon in his room. We all piled onto the bed to watch him open his presents. He was very excited with all his gifts.

Noah took some cupcakes into kindy to celebrate with his friends, he said that was the best part of his day. We'll have a little celebration with family on the weekend as well.

We love you gorgeous Noah. Happy birthday beautiful boy xx

Noah turns 4 - a birthday lunch with family

Noah is turning 4 next week so I got the family together over the weekend to celebrate. I can't believe our baby is almost 4! He loved seeing all of his grandparents, aunty, uncle and cousins and knew the day was all about him.

As there were 15 of us for lunch I wanted to create a long table for us to all sit together. I popped 2 trestle tables together, hired 15 plastic chairs and then set the table with things we had at home.
To create the runner I got a roll of craft paper from the supermarket and wrote birthday messages on it in black texta. Too easy but cute and something different. I then placed various pot plants from around the house down the centre of the table and scattered Noah's matchbox cars between them.
A number 4 balloon and other balloons in his favourite colours were the finishing festive touch.

Even though the adults outnumbered the kids I wanted to add some fun and personalised touches to the birthday lunch. I made up these straws with Noah's sweet face on them, some tiny teddy cars, organised a couple of party games and filled a piƱata with treats for the kids to go wild on!

We started off with a platter and drinks outside while we watched Noah unwrap his gifts.
Then we sat down to a bbq lunch with a couple of salads and a potato bake. Yum!

It was then time for Noah to blow out his candles and cut the cake. I made him his favourite chocolate mud cake and popped some Kinder Surprises and other choccies on top.
Simon also made his famous pavlova, it was a hit. Not a crumb left!

It was so lovely to get everyone together to celebrate our beautiful boys birthday.
We love you Noah to infinity and beyond!
