Noah turns 6!

Our gorgeous boy Noah turned 6 the other day.
He started the morning surrounded by colourful balloons. He was so excited!
He opened up his presents in bed before heading off to school with some birthday cupcakes to share with his class. We had a small cake with the family in the afternoon and Noah loved the fact that it was his special day and all about him.

On Sunday we had a party with all of his new school friends. He invited all the boys in his class and they had a wonderful time running around together for a couple of hours.

Another chocolate cake (his favourite) some party bags and the birthday celebrations for Noah were complete for another year. Our baby is all grown up!

How was your weekend? Any birthday celebrations at your place?

Noah turns 4 - a birthday lunch with family

Noah is turning 4 next week so I got the family together over the weekend to celebrate. I can't believe our baby is almost 4! He loved seeing all of his grandparents, aunty, uncle and cousins and knew the day was all about him.

As there were 15 of us for lunch I wanted to create a long table for us to all sit together. I popped 2 trestle tables together, hired 15 plastic chairs and then set the table with things we had at home.
To create the runner I got a roll of craft paper from the supermarket and wrote birthday messages on it in black texta. Too easy but cute and something different. I then placed various pot plants from around the house down the centre of the table and scattered Noah's matchbox cars between them.
A number 4 balloon and other balloons in his favourite colours were the finishing festive touch.

Even though the adults outnumbered the kids I wanted to add some fun and personalised touches to the birthday lunch. I made up these straws with Noah's sweet face on them, some tiny teddy cars, organised a couple of party games and filled a piƱata with treats for the kids to go wild on!

We started off with a platter and drinks outside while we watched Noah unwrap his gifts.
Then we sat down to a bbq lunch with a couple of salads and a potato bake. Yum!

It was then time for Noah to blow out his candles and cut the cake. I made him his favourite chocolate mud cake and popped some Kinder Surprises and other choccies on top.
Simon also made his famous pavlova, it was a hit. Not a crumb left!

It was so lovely to get everyone together to celebrate our beautiful boys birthday.
We love you Noah to infinity and beyond!

Jasper's 8th Birthday

Jasper turned 8 last Friday and I feel like we have been celebrating for a week!

We started off the birthday celebrations with balloons, breakfast in bed, opening presents and taking cupcakes in for his class.

After school we had a birthday afternoon tea with the grandparents and cousins.
I made a simple vanilla cake with vanilla icing so the mini balloon toppers were great to bring in the colour and party vibe. You can find them here

We did the candle on a cupcake so the balloons wouldn't pop!

On Saturday afternoon we had a party for some of Jasper's school friends. It was great to outsource everything. The trampolines certainly wore them out!

On Sunday we took the boys up to the park to test out a few of Jasper's birthday presents. The remote control helicopter was a favourite with everyone! It was an inexpensive one from Target so we weren't too precious with it. Other favourite presents included a talking Minion, books and lego.

Simon and I always like to take the boys on an outing of their choice on their birthday.
Just the 3 of us. Jasper chose the aquarium and bowling. We had a great time together.

It was certainly the weekend of Jasper and we have well and truly celebrated him turning 8!

How was your weekend?
Any birthdays coming up in your house?

I've also been browsing Pinterest for fun party food and I'm loving these ones....

All a bit of a sugar hit!

Jasper is having a party with a few school friends and we've outsourced it and having it at our local Trampoline/Flip Out place. I find Autumn/Winter birthdays so hard as you can't rely on the weather for something outdoors.  I won't have to do anything for this party but I always like to celebrate on the actual day with a cake and afternoon tea with the family and of course balloons!

Do you have any birthday's coming up?
