Friday's Wish List

I'm definitely still in spring cleaning mode at home and moving bits n pieces around to refresh our space.

So on my Friday Wish List this week ....lots of interior/homewares items I would love to have at home. I seem to be moving towards adding a little more colour into our all white abode with items that are easy to change around.
I've also thrown in a big umbrella and a rattan caddy for the picnics/entertaining I want to have, to take advantage of the beautiful spring/summer weather.

And I'm always on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans. I love the colour and cut of these ones.

What's on your wish list lately? x

Have a wonderful weekend!

NEW Bed Linen - a GIVEAWAY with KAS Australia

I always like to give each room in our home a little refresh as the seasons change.

With summer coming up I've been adding a new cushion here and there, changing out the artwork on the walls and introducing new bed linen in our room to give it a relaxed, pretty summer feel.

When KAS Australia approached me to collaborate I jumped on their site for a browse and was immediately drawn to the quilt cover set in their Balmoral range.

I loved the simple stripe design in blush.  It felt pretty and peaceful. Perfect for the bedroom, which I like to be a relaxed and calm space.

The quilt cover set comes with 2 matching pillowcases. You can also buy Euro pillowcases in the same design to tie everything together.

This KAS bed linen is a lovely combination of linen and cotton and feels so soft. The colour is also perfect  to match with other tones.  This shade of blush is a neutral and even though I mixed up the bed linens with mustard and white tones, I'm excited to try out other colour combinations in the future.

KAS Australia is giving you the chance to win your own quilt cover set over on my Instagram @honeyandfizz

To win - Pop over to Instagram

STILLS - Lately......

How have you been?
I thought I'd pop in and share some photos from around here lately

I stopped into The Pot Warehouse in Mona Vale the other day for a browse and came home with a few new plants. You can never have enough greenery.

We had lunch at Park House Food and Liquor next door.
Beautiful interiors and delicious food. The perfect combo!

Dash loved my new leopard print linen and made himself right at home.
He loves to nap the day away.

We caught up with family at home.

Friday's are usually for catch ups and lunch out.
We tried out Manly Greenhouse and I loved the decor and the pizzas. It's a 3 level restaurant in a wonderful location opposite the beach.

Have a great week!

Leopard Love!

It seems like the love for leopard print is at it's peak at the moment. Everywhere you look there are variations of the print. I'm loving all of the options available in both bedding and in fashion.

I recently purchased this Adairs quilt cover and am so happy with the fresh feel it gives our room!

I've also got a more subtle leopard print in the living room with the table lamp shade.
I've had this for ages and I covered the lampshade myself with some fabric from Spotlight.

I've popped together a few of my other leopard print favourites......

Are you a fan of leopard print?

Art in my home - my favourites at the moment

It's lovely to be home after our holiday and I've enjoyed pottering around the house since I've been back, changing up a few things here and there.

One of the things I've got plans to refresh is this gallery wall below.

I'm going to keep a few of the prints and change out the rest. I'm also going to make it all white frames except for the large print in the middle.

I always get asked on where I buy my art work for the house so I'd thought I'd share some of my favourites lately.....

Some of my favourite "summer vibe" prints below ......
You can find them on Etsy at LILAxLOLA  or Olive et Oriel

My big coloured print in the middle  of the gallery wall was picked up last year on sale at Freedom
Although I think you can find it through Warranbrooke stockists

I love the pop of pink in this room with the kombi print above the bed
Also I think the nude line drawings are lovely for the bedroom

Kombi via Etsy - Crown Prints
Nudes - @theheraseries on Instagram
Gemini print - @sundaylane on Instagram

I couldn't resist this Morocco print when I first saw it. It feels pretty and exotic.
Maybe I'll make plans to travel there one day....
Print via Warranbrooke - check for stockists.

Other pink prints via Desenio

Some cute prints in Noah's room to show his love of the beach.

The Aloha print is from @lonelyseaa on Instagram
The Little Frother is from @thezookeeper_ on Instagram

The rest of these prints are via Desenio

These prints on my desk are via Jasmine Dowling.
She always has amazing prints in cool colours.

I always get asked about which frames I use and lately I've been getting most of my frames from Kmart. They have the large 60 x 90cm frames in both white and a natural wood colour.
They also have smaller white frames in A4 and A3 size. I also like their gold A4 frames.

With the prints I buy off Etsy most of them are downloaded files that enable me to print out the best size for the space. I get mine printed at OfficeWorks.

Another type of art for my walls are these tiles. Most of them are from Ahoy Trader (Jai Vasicek)

I orginally started collecting them each time we went to Byron Bay for holidays so they are great reminders of our trips. I've also added a few pieces from A Boy Named Aaron who I found via Instagram.

I hope that gives you a few tips on where to buy some art for your home. Art doesn't have to break the bank to make a huge impact in a room.
It's great to mix and match different vibes and add interest to your walls.

Do you change up your art often?

Staging a property for Sale

As you probably know Simon and I have a Real Estate business on Sydney's Northern Beaches. While my role is mainly behind the scenes dealing with admin and client pampering I sometimes help  him with staging a property for sale when the need arises.

Recently Simon was selling a  3 bedroom duplex that was unfurnished and was looking a little cold and unloved. The 2 living areas were an odd shape and undefined and Simon could see that purchasers were having trouble visualising how they would live in these spaces.

We agreed on a budget with the owner and I began to pull together a mood board and do a floor plan to work out which furniture was needed and what lay out would work best.

As the property is near the beach,  I wanted to do a modern coastal vibe. I also wanted to stick to my "signature look" with lots of white, rattan, large prints and indoor plants as I know that works.
I wanted to stretch the budget as far as I could so I looked for inexpensive pieces from Kmart, Ikea and Fantastic Furniture to furnish the house. I added in a few accessories to soften everthing and give the property a homely feel.

Below is a few of the pieces I put together to give this duplex a beachy feel.

Below is a couple of photos of the property before. The duplex had been given a fresh coat of white paint and new carpet laid. It was a blank canvas.

I kept things fairly simple and divided the rooms into a living space and a dining space

You can see a peek of the transformation below......
(I snapped a few on my phone before I left)

I've listed my sources of the furniture and homewares below:

Sofas - Ikea

Rugs - Home on Darley

Armchairs - Kmart

Coffee Table - Ikea

Side Table - Kmart

TV Cabinets - Fantastic Furniture

Prints - Etsy - try Lila x Lola or SisiandSeb

Frames - Kmart

Baskets - Kmart

Dining Table - Fantastic Furniture

Dining Chairs - Fantastic Furniture

Artificial Plants - Adairs

I love that I can use my passion for interiors in new spaces. I love the challenge of creating a "home" from a blank canvas.

I think it's definitely easier to visualise your own furniture in a space that's already furnished as opposed to an empty property. What do you think?
