Winter things...

 It feels like winter has been going on forever! It has also been very full. I always find term 3 so hectic as everything gets crammed in before the end of the year.

Simon and I were in the city the other day looking at tiles and stone for our upcoming floor & kitchen reno and decided to stop into The Grounds for a coffee and breakfast. It's been years since we had stopped in. It used to be a real favourite! The current theme was Winter Wonderland. It was pretty in places but I feel The Grounds is looking a little tired and dated and could use a little refresh.

We also celebrated some family birthdays. Simon and Finn turned another year older so there were lunches and dinners out to mark the occasions. 

Jasper is currently in year 12 and doing his trials. He is having a year of "last times".

It has been a little sad to see some things coming to end. He had his final performance at the Conservatorium. We have really enjoyed watching his band and solo performances over the past with the school.

We've been trying to get out for walks when the never ending amount of rain Sydney has been getting stops for a while.

I've added some chocolate tones in the furnishings around the house for winter. It feels very cosy and perfect for the season.

Noah is 13!

 The baby of the family is a teenager! We are really moving into the next stage of life with the boys and we are really enjoying all of these new changes and phases.

We had a great weekend celebrating Noah's birthday.  Go Karting, a city stay and a delicious dinner out.

Our week - photo diary

 We had another birthday in the house... Finn turned 19. It was his second year having a birthday in Lockdown which isn't fun but at least he had a donut delivery!

This birthday memory came up on Facebook - Finn celebrating his 11th birthday!

Our renovation progress has slowed down due to the stoppage of all trades and builders but we have been completing the jobs we can do ourselves and some of the rooms are coming together. I've been busy editing and refining all of our furniture and homewares and only keeping the things I truly love.

There has also been a couple of new purchases of course!

I edited the shelving and rejigged it into a more neutral theme...

The mild weather has resulted in some beautiful sunsets. You can definitely feel Spring around the corner.

Jasper turns 13.

Well, we have another teenager in the house! Jasper turned 13 today.

We had presents in the morning, phone calls from family then off to school. 

We then celebrated with Jasper's favourite chocolate cake for afternoon tea and a promise of a future celebration with friends later on in the year. 

Of course we had the obligatory helium balloons in the birthday numbers but they were a tough find this year! I had to hunt around and the only 13 I could find was in rose gold. 

(There must be lots of celebrations happening this month?!)

Jasper had a smile on his face all day and had a great birthday. 

He is just the sweetest and we love him so much!
