Around here lately.....

It's been a while since I've popped some photos up to share what's been happening around here lately.

I love popping fresh linen combinations on the bed each week and I'm obsessed with my velvet floral Rachel Castle pillowcases. Combined with pink sheets and green quilt it was a pretty colour combination this week!

I loved all of the boys handmade cards and gifts from the Mother's Day stall that I received last week.
Noah was so excited to give them to me.

We went to Simon's parents place for a Mother's Day dinner for a taco feast. What a spread!
Such a cool way to plate up.

I had a suprise delivery of some flowers this week. Gorgeous colours and mix of flowers.

I did a little home tour on my Instagram stories last week, this wall has a collection of tiles from our Byron Bay holidays.

I always snap a photo of this bougainvillea at mum's place.
The colours against the blue sky are just stunning!

I bought out the cosy rug for the winter months. You can find Dash curled up on it most days.

That's about it for now.Catch up with you all soon! x
How have things been at your place lately?

Mother's Day Gift Guide

It's Mother's Day on Sunday and I've put together a little gift guide with some ideas on pressies for your mum and mother figures or maybe just as a hint for the husband and kids.

At this time of year as the weather cools down, I always love new pj's and lounge wear or a new pair of boots.  Some jewellery and bath products to pamper yourself with is always great.

Or you could choose something that the whole family can benefit from like the Vitamix.
We love ours and have gotten so much use out of it making acai bowls, smoothis and soups.

Here are a few of my picks -

Of course a bunch of flowers, breakfast in bed, gifts chosen lovingly from the school stall are always amazing. I love the pride and effort the boys take with their homemade mother's day gifts each year.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Sunday morning will bring :)

How about you? Anything planned for Sunday?

Bedroom Makeover Reveal + SleepMaker Giveaway

Thanks to SleepMaker we got the chance to give our bedroom a makeover.

The timing was perfect as the renovations were complete and our bedroom needed a fresh new look to match the rest of the house. We kept most of our existing furniture and homewares but a few new bits and pieces were added. This included a new bed.

Our old bed was so low to the ground you couldn't vacuum under it so I wanted something lighter and airier. I also got Simon to make a bench for the end of the bed. So great to have a handy husband!

You can read my previous post on which SleepMaker mattress we chose and how we narrowed it down here

Of course Noah wanted to test out the new mattress immediately! ;)

After being out of the house for 5 weeks while the renovations were happening, I have a new appreciation for my own bed and my own house.
It was great to potter around and create a new relaxed, comfy sanctuary.

Here are a few photos from our refreshed space -

My love of typography and prints is still strong as you can see here!
I wanted the art above the bed to be a feature and have a romantic, coupley theme.
Neutral colours were also important as I wanted them to complement any colour of linen on the bed.

You can't really dress up a tv but we love to watch an episode of something before we go to sleep.

A beaded ball chandelier in white was on my wishlist for ages.
I just needed to find one in my budget  and I did!

Her side

The bench Simon made was a quick DIY and is the perfect spot to sit and pop your shoes on.
Noah is also using it as a step to launch himself on the bed!

I can't tell you how wonderful our sleep has been since the mattress arrived.
Also the softness of the washed grey linen quilt cover has me lingering there in the mornings and doing a bit of work from bed. We have been on school holidays after all ;)

I'm not the only one hanging out there!

SleepMaker was so generous and also gifted me a Queen Sleep Pack

Consisting of 2 x pillows, 2 x pillow protectors, 1 x quilt and 1 x mattress protector.
I've also got one to give away - valued at $700.00.

Jasper can vouch for how comfy and snuggly they are!

Leave me a comment below if you would like to enter. I'll draw the winner next week.
Good Luck!
Perfect timing as we change over the bed linen and quilts for the cooler weather.

Linen Love - kids linen.

I have a weakness for bed linen lately. It used to be that scatter cushions were my homeware of choice but now I can't get enough of sheets and quilt covers!

I try to buy ones that can be used on all of our beds. Sure, the queen size is a bit big for the single beds but if I fold it over and tuck it in, it works. There were a couple of new linen ranges lately that have caught my eye for the boys bedrooms.

I can't wait for the new kids bed linen range from Cotton On Kids

I'm also loving these bold colours from Aura

And you can't go wrong with something fun from Rachel Castle

Here is a peek at my own linen collection

I buy my line from everywhere. Some of my favourite places are Ikea, Target, Fossik, Lark and Adairs

What is your homeware of choice?
Is your linen cupboard straining at the seams?!
