Tis the season....Christmas 2017

The tree is up, a few presents have been wrapped and are waiting beneath it, garlands are hanging from the mirrors + doorways and Melvin our "Elf on the Shelf" has made an appearance.
The festive season has begun!

It's always lovely to pull out the decorations each Christmas. We've been collecting them from various places over the years. The younger boys really enjoy decorating the tree and choosing the perfect spot for each one.

They also wrote their letters to Santa with a cool little kit that has special paper that you shrink in the oven to a tiny size so the elves can pick them up and take them back to the North Pole.

Melvin our elf will deliver their letters to Santa Claus and come back each day to hang around the house to make sure the boys are on their best behaviour. A full report goes back to Santa each night!

Have you got your tree up yet?

Christmas themed treats

At this time of year the amount of parties and social occasions kick up a notch and it's fun to take along a little christmas themed treat to share and celebrate the festive season.

I made the reindeer christmas bark and then the next week the reindeer cake.
I wanted to use up all the eyes, red mini m+m's and pretzels ;)
I found the eyes in the cake aisle at Woolies.

Here are a few other ideas I came across on Pinterest that you may want to try -

Malteser cake - I've also seen this done with ice-cream

Kiwi fruit Christmas tree

Christmas light cupcakes

Santa pancakes

Vegetable Christmas tree

Have you given these a try before? Tempted to give something a go, let me know!
