It's that time of the year again.... we had a wonderful weekend pulling out our Christmas decorations and getting into the festive spirit.
We all enjoy seeing our old favourite decorations each year and adding a few new ones into the mix. As Simon drives a white kombi, I just had to pick up the cute kombi decorations when I saw them.
We have stuck to our usual neutral tones with our decorations as I love how they pop against the green of the tree. The metallic ornaments add the glitz and festive mood. Our mirrors are decorated with the usual garlands and banners we've had for years. I also added a few other christmassy vignettes throughout the house. Reindeer and sleigh, nativity scene, advent calendar - check!
We added a second tree into the mix this year. We found a skinny, pop up one that fit the space we had perfectly. Noah loved decorating this one himself. He takes such care with the placement of the ornaments. Bless! With 2 trees, both Jasper + Noah got to place a star on top. Loved that!
The boys want to also decorate the outside of our house as well this year so we will see how we go...
The countdown to Christmas begins!
My decorations have been collected over the years from various places. Nothing too expensive or delicate.
I gave away all of my glass ornaments when Finn was little after a few too many broken ones. Now all of the ornaments are either plastic/resin and we don't have to be precious with them. They are from Kmart, Adairs, Target, Big W, Myer and Bed, Bath & Table.
My most asked about ornaments are my peace sign ones from Pottery Barn and the kombi ones's from Typo. I usually by in either 3's or 5's. One for each of the boys or one for all of us. Maybe one day when the boy's have their own families I will gift them a collection of ornaments that I have gathered for them over the years.
The boy's rooms also got a festive makeover with their christmas quilt covers from Big W, Santa + reindeer cushions from Target, felt christmas tree from Kmart and a huggable elf from Best and Less.
So cute!
Have you got your Christmas decorations up yet? x
