Blog Love.

Lately there has been a few people commenting on the lack of Blog Love and how it is harder to break into the blogging community.

It did make me look back on how it was when I started blogging a couple of years ago. I had a few familiar faces and a little circle that all followed each other, there were lots of Blog Awards and introductions to "newbies".

As my life got busier I still read all of my blogs but was guilty of not leaving a comment as much.
Or if I did it was just one or two words and not as in depth as I would have liked. I am trying to find the time to read and comment more lately as I do miss the community feel. I still catch up on the "old friends" but I have found some lovely new spaces to visit too :)

So in the spirit of Blog Love, here are some of the blogs I follow. Both old and new favourites.
Pop over and take a look, leave a comment and make someone's day :)

Jill from Life at Number 91 gave me the Liebster Award a while ago. Thanks so much Jill, I really appreciate it :) Make sure you pop over and say hi to Jill. She is on an organising streak lately and her tidying and organising is a bit contagious!

One of the first blogs I followed was Anna's blog Lona de Anna.
Anna has a baby Noah too, he is 6 weeks or so older than my Noah. She also adores homes/interiors and creates wonderful paintings. I'm still figuring out if I have space for one!

Amanda from Homely One. was also another early follower of my blog and I of hers.
Amanda's blog is full of wonderful recipes, craft ideas, her home and beautiful girls.

Belinda from Billy and August has a beautiful blog. B is a friend I met through blogging who happens to only live 15 minutes away. Belinda is only a couple of weeks away from having her 3rd baby and her blog is her diary. I feel privileged to read her thoughts and feelings.
The love she has for her family and how she expresses it is heartwarming.
Plus she is always up on the latest social media things that I love :)

Some of the newer blogs I have discovered is Julie's blog at Mama of 2 boys.
I love Julie's photos and her story of life with her 2 boys. Her writing and honesty is beautiful and she is one of the best blog commenters I know! Reading her blog makes me feel like I know her and could be friends :)

Karla from Ironmum Karla is a former Ironwoman, now a mum of two but still a sporty lady!
I love to read about her healthy lifestyle and recipes and take a bit of inspiration in getting healthier.
I always love to hear a new tip on feeling and looking fabulous!

I've just discovered Joanne's blog A Blog by Joanne and I am loving reading about her home renovations and design ideas :)

These blogs are just a drop in my blog list. If you look to the left of my blog you can see all the blogs I follow! I do try to browse you all and leave a comment if I can :)

Leave me a message with your blog name and link and I will drop by and say hi. Also let me know if you have a favourite blog. I'm always looking for new reads :)

Simone xx

    1. I know Tessa, I feel the same. Sometimes I feel like a one word comment is not enough but you're right, at least they know I have been and read xx

  2. Hi Simone, I agree, blogging has changed a bit. I find it difficult to get around everyone, but love to leave a message when I do. I was talking to a friend recently and she said she saw something on my blog - well I had no idea at all that she ever read it! The friendship circle is special to me. I feel like I'm waffling on a bit but oh well. I thought this was a lovely post Simone. Have a great week xx

    1. Hi Sarah, yes it is a bit hard to get around as I usually start at the top of my reader and if I get distracted or busy than the bottom people miss out :(
I know what you mean, it's funny because sometimes I share more here than I do on facebook or other social medias and when someone that I know comments on something it does make me aware of how many people I know do read it now. Where as before it was my little "secret". Nice to know they're interested :) It is a special circle and you are always so good on commenting xx

  3. Thankyou Simone so sweet of you. I am very guilty of always reading and not commenting, or I find those who have fb pages I comment on there. Thankyou once again for the mention.

  4. No worries Jill, so sorry it is so late! I don't follow everyone on Facebook, for some reason I keep the blogs separate. I don't know why I do this! I guess the blogs have a special place as this is where it all started :) xx

  6. Just have to say I love reading your blog posts and agree it's really nice that you make mention of old and new friends. I too will be off to read these shortly.

I guess I am rather new at blogging and I'm trying to learn the in's and out's and up's and down's of the blogging world. If you have any advice and have the spare time, I would really appreciate it.

    1. Thanks Simone ( that felt funny), so lovely to discover new blogs and new faces. I guess at the start of my blogging I felt like it was an addiction and I couldn't get enough of posting things or finding all these wonderful blogs and a world I never knew about. The best way to become part of the blogging community is just to follow other blogs and like minded people, always leave a comment and hopefully people will come over to your blog and stay a while xx

    1. I know what you mean, it has changed. All our lives have become so much busier but I always pop over to see what you and Zeke are up to. Loving your Twicebaked business too, it looks like heaps of fun. But far too tempting, I would want to keep everything xx

  8. LOVELY post Simone! I just had a look at a couple that I didn't know about and you're right, they're lovely. Some of the ones you mentioned I already love and follow. I don't comment all the time, it's usually because i don't have the time to write what i would love to say, and i do miss a few posts as I'm not on the computer much these days. Amelia has discovered Mathletics so I hardly get a look in with the computer. I do "pop in" on everyone when I get the chance. Just not as often as i would like.
Take care and again, lovely post :)

  9. Oh bless your cotton socks Simone!! I too have been a little preoccupied and find if I can dedicate 1 night a week to actually leaving comments rather than just reading and leaving then I am happy. So many great blogs and so little time to read them all. I am a shocker at even finding new blogs so this will make it easy for me to go check out some new ones. Thankyou.x

    1. Thanks Karla, its always nice to discover a new blog isn't it. Sometimes I prefer to read blogs than magazines. It sounds like a good idea, I think once a week I will focus on my commenting. Just to let everyone know I was there xx

  11. Aww thank you so much Simone, you're an absolute sweetheart :) I agree, it is hard to keep up with all the fabulous blogs out there & keep finding new ones too. But I do love my blog reading & will always be up for supporting the newbies. Thank you also for this list of great looking blogs, sometimes word of mouth is the best way to discover these little treasures xoxo

  12. Oh...Thank you gorgeous girl. So very true with what is happening within the blogsphere now...why is that exactly? maybe we have too many social medias we can tap into now? I know that for me...life just gets in the way..I really dont have time to sit and write up a post..as I used to...which is why at the moment Im so hooked on Instagram as it is my 10 second post..lol..a quick dose of inspiration in the moments of the day where a can fit it...and it at least still makes me feel connected to you all in some way.
Thanks for the intro to some newbies...I always like visiting fresh new blogs. x

    1. You're welcome lovely :) I agree I think with Instagram and Facebook and Tumblr there are just too many choices and just not enough time. I agree Instagram is sooo good for a quick fix! xx

  13. You are so right!! I used to comment on and even read so many more blogs that what I do now. I need to make more time to share the love. Instagram is a fav of mine for that reason. You can leave some comment love so quickly. And I am loving seeing all your pics on there!
Thanks for the recommendations to some new blogs, I am off to explore xo

  14. Thanks Liz, yes I love the insights of Instagram. It seems a little more personal and so easy to like and comment. I think we are all in the same boat with our lack of time but I will definitely be making more of an effort to share the Blog Love as it really is a fab part of my life. Something just for me although non-bloggers don't really get it! xx

  15. You and I moved in the same blog circle from the beginning and I have followed for ever. I was a great commenter and in fact have made and met some really lovely people because of blogging but with the loss of my husband last year everything changed. I closed my blog down and walked away for a long time then I discovered I couldn't stay away so back I came with a new blog and the most wonderful thing happened two days after my first post 30 of those wonderful people hopped on board and I was off again. The blog love is still there it is perhaps just a little different I follow on Instagram and Pinterest and now I even tweet (since Blogopolis!!!) and the friendships keep growing!
I love your post and am now of to visit some new people so thank you for he introductions!

  16. Thank you for reading on commenting on a post of mine that came from deep in my heart. I was super chuffed that someone had read & posted a comment on that particular post. Made my day! I am new to this blogging world & not particularly consistent(but trying, the ideas are in my head) but I am enjoying the things I am finding in this new world ; ) xx

  17. Oh Simone, you're a gem!! Thanks for mentioning me in this post :) I love your blog too and enjoy reading what's been happening with you and the boys or what's currently inspiring you. I've noticed the same lack of blog/comment love too but I think as you say it's all the social media people are dabbling in. I only blog as that's all I can keep up with :) I find that I often have a big catch-up on blogs these days, reading back through posts I've missed. I'll be sure to check out some of the blogs you've mentioned which I'm not familiar with...
