Our previous Christmases :)

Tis the season and all that, so I thought I would share with you some photos of our previous Christmases.

I am quite lucky as both mine and Simon's families celebrate Christmas Day together so there is no shuttling between families on the day. We can all relax and enjoy each others company.
We take turns each year to host Christmas Day and it is great to experience the different ways each person decorates their home and the yummy food they cook.
Here are some of our previous Christmas Days.

2007, it was our turn. I think we had about 20 people this year!

The tree

Excuse the unironed tablecloth!

Photo placecard settings, white roses and "bonbon" boxes.

Everyone!

Taking a rest after lunch :)

2008 it was my sister in law Emma's parents turn.
I told you we love to combine the families :)
I think this was my most extravagant Christmas ever. From the gorgeous house decorations to the multi course Christmas lunch. Divine!! Can't wait for their turn again!!

Our hosts.
Aline is the best cook I know.
She is French, makes everything from scratch, vegan but cooks meat to perfection!

2009 was Christmas Day on the Central Coast at Emma & Anthony's house.

Em and Ant

The beautiful table setting.

It is my inlaw's turn this year and I can't wait.
I really love Christmas Day as you are surrounded by loved ones with no where to be and nothing else to do but enjoy fabulous food and company and watch the littlies play with their Chrissy presents.

Are you hosting Christmas Day this year?
What are your plans?

  3. Wow all such gorgeous Christmas tables, so well decorated, and so lovely that you combine all the family! We're off to my in-laws this year, which will definitely be a beautiful lunch. When she immigrated from Sth Africa she had to cull her belongings, but still ended up bringing 4 dinner sets. Everything is planned in advance and we luckily get to turn up and enjoy! I'm contributing by taking the ham.
Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Stunning photos, and beautiful words about your man. Very beautiful. Sonia :)

  6. What a great post and lots of inspirtion to be gained from these beautiful table settings. Yours in the first pics is so crisp and beautiful colours used (love the place cards!!). I love the Christmas feel to the second setting with the tree in the background and I love the way the high chair has been pulled up to the main table with the kiddie bowl and plate. I really love the red and white setting - a lovely modern, Christmas feel to it. Thanks for sharing these - might have to drag out our old photos after seeing yours... Enjoy your day Simone x

We are having Christmas at my place again this year and I love getting ready for the day, we will have one long table on the deck and I'm going for quite a neutral theme this year of just muted silver and gold tones, I can't wait!
